Emirati citizens evacuated from Sudan amid UAE closely monitoring the conflict

Since a deadly conflict erupted in Sudan on April 15, the UAE has been closely monitoring the developments there and pushing for an immediate halt to the hostilities, while stressing the importance of all parties involved to engage in serious political discussions.

More than 420 people have been killed in the days-long violence so far, with thousands of others sustaining injuries to various severities. The actual death toll could even be higher as many are unable to access healthcare and dozens of hospitals have paused operations.

The warring parties in Sudan have agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire from 22:00 GMT on Monday, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said. It's possibly the third truce in the fighting so far, withnone of the previous ones holding long.
