Infinity Power strikes Africa’s ‘biggest renewable energy deal’

The acquisition of Lekela Power by Infinity Power is a significant development for renewable energy in Africa, and it's great to see Masdar and Infinity working together to expand the region's clean energy capacity. The planned installation and operation of 2 GW of greenfield projects by 2025 is an ambitious target that will help to drive the growth of renewable energy in the continent.

It's also encouraging to see the UAE taking a leadership role in climate action, including hosting the upcoming COP28 climate talks. The country's commitment to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement, is an important step in addressing the global climate crisis.

The world needs to act urgently to reduce emissions and prevent the worst impacts of climate change, and the expansion of renewable energy in Africa is an essential part of this effort. I hope that Infinity Power's acquisition of Lekela Power and its plans for future growth will inspire other companies and countries to invest in renewable energy across the continent.
