UAE Announces $550M Support for UN’s 2026 Humanitarian Plan
The United Arab Emirates has pledged USD 550 million to support the United Nations’ 2026 Global Humanitarian Overview (GHO), one of the world’s largest humanitarian funding appeals. The announcement was made under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to international humanitarian action.
The GHO 2026 plan aims to raise $33 billion to assist around 135 million people across 23 humanitarian operations worldwide. These include support for refugees, migrants, and communities facing conflict, displacement and food insecurity.
UAE officials and senior UN representatives welcomed the pledge, describing it as a critical step toward addressing urgent humanitarian gaps. The funds will help safeguard millions of lives by ensuring timely delivery of emergency assistance and strengthening relief operations in crisis regions.
