UAE’s Global Humanitarian Leadership: Showcasing Dh370 Billion in Aid and a Legacy of Compassion

The UAE has reinforced its position as a global humanitarian leader following the recent announcement at the Emirates International Press Conference, where Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimi revealed that the country has provided more than Dh370 billion in aid, touching the lives of over one billion people worldwide.

This achievement reflects a long-standing national philosophy rooted in the values of the UAE’s Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who believed that giving is a duty and a core part of national identity. Today, this mission continues under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose vision has strengthened the UAE’s role as a global lifeline during times of crisis.

The UAE’s impact spans critical humanitarian operations across the world — from delivering tens of thousands of tonnes of aid to Gaza, to supporting health initiatives such as polio eradication in Pakistan, to providing essential relief in Yemen, Sudan, and Afghanistan. Its humanitarian support also includes medical evacuations, education programs, and crisis-response logistics.

Dubai has become a central logistics hub for international relief, hosting more than 80 global organizations and facilitating rapid deployment of supplies, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. With 40+ charities operating from the UAE, the nation continues to champion partnerships and cooperation to strengthen global humanitarian systems.

The UAE’s humanitarian model stands out for its clarity of purpose: to protect human dignity, extend hope, and support people in need without discrimination. As global challenges intensify, the UAE remains committed to its role as a bridge of compassion and a steadfast partner for vulnerable communities worldwide.
