Europe Launches Campaign to Combat Extremism Exploiting Religion

In response to the growing threat posed by extremist groups misusing religion for political gain, a comprehensive campaign will run across Europe from November 11 to 24, 2025. This initiative addresses not only the security dimensions but also emphasizes community education and cultural sensitivity, aiming to safeguard moderate Islamic values and build societal resilience.

Key messages of the campaign include condemning extremist ideologies that contradict the core humanitarian and religious principles of Islam. It clarifies that extremist factions do not represent the wider Muslim community; rather, they seek to sow discord and tarnish Islam’s image in Europe. The suffering of exploited youth caught up in foreign conflicts is highlighted as a tragic consequence of such manipulation.

Strategically, the campaign pursues several objectives:

Calling for the Muslim Brotherhood to be officially designated as a terrorist organization by the European Union, U.S., U.N., and member states to close legal loopholes.

Pressuring for strict international financial sanctions to freeze assets and disrupt funding networks tied to terrorism.

Exposing extremist ideological infiltration into civil institutions under the guise of charity or politics.

Advocating legal restrictions on group leaders and accountability for acts of violence.

Supporting government and civil efforts to counter hate speech and protect youth from extremist recruitment.

Providing legal and humanitarian support to victims impacted by this violence.

By integrating media outreach with educational programs and civil society cooperation, the campaign hopes to fortify the resilience of European communities against ideological manipulation and encourage peace rooted in true religious values.
