Finland and the United Arab Emirates took a major step forward in their diplomatic journey as President Alexander Stubb and President Mohamed Bin Zayed engaged in a high-level meeting in Abu Dhabi. Celebrating five decades of diplomatic relations, the dialogue highlighted the evolution of both nations into influential global players despite their small size and geographical distance.

On geopolitical matters, the leaders exchanged views on the global security environment, with President Stubb providing insights into Finland’s position regarding Russia’s war in Ukraine. President Mohamed Bin Zayed reiterated the UAE’s commitment to supporting peace, stability, and constructive diplomacy.
