Revolut Billionaire CEO Joins Wave of Entrepreneurs Leaving London for the UAE

Revolut’s billionaire CEO Nik Storonsky has officially relocated from London to the United Arab Emirates, becoming the latest high-profile founder to leave Europe amid shifting tax regimes and growing regulatory uncertainty.

The move, confirmed in UK Companies House filings from October 2024, aligns with a broader exodus of ultra-wealthy individuals following the UK government’s decision to abolish its non-dom tax rule — a policy that had long benefited global investors and entrepreneurs.

The UAE, by contrast, has positioned itself as a safe haven for innovation and capital, offering zero personal income tax, fast-track licensing for fintechs, and a transparent business environment. Global brands such as Binance, Revolut, and Stripe Middle East now call Dubai home.

Storonsky’s relocation underscores the UAE’s transformation into a strategic hub for global founders, supported by modern infrastructure, world-class education, and consistent governance under UAE Vision 2031.

He joins a growing list of billionaires, including Nassef Sawiris, Christian Angermayer, and the Livingstone brothers, who have moved their residency from the UK to the Gulf.

As Europe tightens its fiscal policies, the UAE’s blend of economic freedom and quality of life continues to attract the world’s top business leaders — solidifying its reputation as the new capital of global innovation.
