Abu Dhabi Crowned the World's Happiest City in 2025

 

Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, has officially been named the World's Happiest City of 2025, according to a global survey by Time Out. The city achieved near-perfect results, with 99% of residents saying it makes them happy, 96% noting positive local energy, and 93% feeling happier there than anywhere else.

The report highlights Abu Dhabi's winning formula - a unique balance of modern luxury, culture, community spirit, and nature. From the peaceful Corniche waterfront and the Louvre Abu Dhabi to its green initiatives like the Mangrove National Park, the city blends progress with well-being.

Medellín, Colombia, took second place, while Cape Town, South Africa, ranked third. The top 10 cities span multiple continents, celebrating diversity and joy in urban life.

The UAE shines doubly bright this year, with Dubai ranking 16th, reinforcing the nation's dedication to happiness, safety, and multicultural harmony.

Experts say the ranking reflects a global shift toward valuing community, art, nature, and emotional well-being - and Abu Dhabi stands as a beacon of what the future of happy cities looks like.
