UK Firms Rapidly Embrace Agentic AI, Finds Salesforce Study
In a bold stride toward autonomous technology, UK firms are rapidly adopting agentic AI, a new breed of artificial intelligence designed to operate independently rather than merely assist human users. According to new research unveiled at the Agentforce London 2025 event by Salesforce, this shift marks a significant turning point in the country’s digital transformation journey.
Agentic AI isn’t just another incremental tech upgrade—it represents a philosophical shift in how businesses think about automation and intelligence. Unlike co-pilot models that rely heavily on human input, agentic AI operates with a degree of autonomy, capable of making decisions and executing tasks without constant supervision. This leap toward independent machine agency is being driven by a clear business case: efficiency, scale, and competitive advantage.
The study, based on a survey of over 100 C-level executives from medium and large UK enterprises, reveals that 78 percent of businesses are already leveraging agentic AI. Even more striking is the 14 percent that plan to integrate it within the next six months. If these projections hold, 92 percent of large UK businesses will be using agentic AI by the end of 2025.
That figure is not just impressive—it’s transformative. It signals a near-universal embrace of a technology that only a few years ago felt speculative at best. What we’re witnessing is the mainstreaming of intelligent autonomy in business operations—from logistics and customer service to financial forecasting and product development.
Still, the rapid rise of agentic AI isn’t without its challenges. Questions remain around governance, ethical design, and the human workforce's evolving role in increasingly autonomous systems. Businesses must be vigilant in ensuring these systems remain transparent, auditable, and aligned with human values.
Yet, even amid these concerns, one thing is clear: agentic AI is no longer on the horizon—it’s here, and UK firms are wasting no time in capitalising on its potential. The next question isn’t whether agentic AI will change the business landscape, but how quickly the rest of the world can keep up.
