Trump Extends Praise to Vladimir Putin, Asks for Peace To War-Torn Ukraine

Donald Trump, the former leader of the United States has been making rounds in the Pennsylvania's Trump rally where he boasts of being best of friends with the Russian President Vladmir Putin. Trump controverted the position of the journalist vying to ask him questions, insisting that had he been president at the time, with the control of usual politics- occuring, Russia would not have Gotten to Ukraine, and thus there would not be this ongoing territorial dispute. He pointed out that “it would be a very quick fix” the war in Ukraine, should he become President once again, adding that he has a “very good relationship” with Putin and other persons like Ukraine president Zelensky.

Trump's comments have, once again, brought back the topic of his foreign policy, specifically in relation to Russia. The statement made by the outspoken former president raises concerns regarding the possibility of his return to office and the likelihood of him being able to solve the issue. The public has and continues to analyze how it is that Trump was able to work with Putin in a different light, for example, this current scenario is different than the one presented in Bob Woodward's "War, “which details Trump's post-impeachment messages to the leader of Russia.

As time is nearing the presidential election of 2024, it is most likely that these statements of Trump will be taken into consideration by voters in the subsequent elections as well as the dynamics of the relationship between Russia and America. And a in a political environment marked by heightened tensions due to the existing war in Ukraine, Trump’s assertions will be put under serious examination by both parties as the election campaign progresses.
