Transition Delays Raise National Security Concerns Amid Preparations by Harris Team

As the transition of the presidency runs on, delays by the Donald Trump campaign spring up with huge national security concerns. Two important deadlines, one of which was the memorandum of understanding with the General Services Administration due on 1 September and access arrangements at the White House due on October 1, have been missed by the Trump team. Such oversight may make the new administration incapable of taking effective strides towards dealing with the oncoming hurricanes season, global wars, and economic uncertainty.

On the other hand, Vice President Kamala Harris’s team is already fully prepared for a potential transfer of power. Led by Yohannes Abraham, who supervised President Biden’s transition, this team has operational plans and ethics protocols in place so that to avail all necessary government resources and information. The critical importance for an effective transfer of power can be clearly understood because earlier studies had shown that effective transitions of power are directly related to better functioning of the government.

The differences in the two teams’ transition strategies go on to point out the risks if proper preparation is not adequately provided. As the political climate changes, the preparedness of leadership teams will play a key role in overcoming those odds. Such pressing issues standing at the doorsteps will make the hands of the next administration rely on just how well they cross over this bridge of transition.
