A New Chapter in UAE-Singapore Relations: The Crown Prince's Diplomatic Mission

The visit of Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Singapore is an important development in the relations between the UAE and Singapore. It consisted of high-level meetings aimed at promoting these relations in a number of areas including education, technology and economic growth.

Sheikh Khaled also took part in the official luncheon hosted by Prime Minister Lawrence Wong where other dignitaries were present. This meeting presented an opportunity to talk about issues of concern and the possibilities for working together. The talks reaffirmed the importance both countries place on the goals of their two strategic partnerships which they intend to pursue.

Sheikh Khaled enjoyed a cordial interaction with UAE students studying in Singapore which stood out on the agenda of the visit. He relayed greetings on behalf of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, praising the UAE’s and its leaders’ resolve to support educational ambitions even in far locations. While such a policy is aimed at, or at least expects to be targeted at, integrating the students’ studies, it also seeks to work at cultural interaction between the two countries.

As more tailored efforts are being made by both UAE and Singapore to strengthen their diplomatic relations, it can easily be perceived that this particular visit was more deeper and broader in scope and objectives than the previous ones suggesting the growth and development to come.
