On  Friday in a historic meeting US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss the ongoing Gaza conflict and ways through which a ceasefire could be secured to touched on the need for urgency in halting the violence, releasing hostages, and increasing humanitarian assistance.

On this, the meeting highlighted cooperation with international partners—the United Nations and Egypt—to secure an agreement on a solid ceasefire. In addition, Blinken and Sheikh Abdullah talked about the need for swift humanitarian response and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

He took notice of the UAE's effort toward promoting regional stability and thanked the country for its active diplomatic role in negotiating peace. The meeting underlined what the U.S. and UAE share in finding resolution to the conflict and in attending to the critical humanitarian needs of the region.
