UAE Ambitions in Technology: New Ventures and Achievements
The UAE forges ahead with its technological ambitions as the Advanced Technology Research Council announces three new ventures. Announced at a recent meeting chaired by Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince, the focus for this year will be data security, autonomous mobility, and agricultural technology using robotic innovations.
The Council was established in 2020 to shape Abu Dhabi's Research and Development strategy. It will also facilitate crucially investments, drive policy and support technological advancement. The new ventures are likely to contribute much towards the UAE innovation economy processes by bringing research into practice.
First, it will address the new challenges that quantum data security is bringing about and will really make information safe in the digital age. The second will deal with advancements in smart autonomous mobility, holding great promise to transform transport systems in general. The third on the role of robotics in improving agricultural practices to bring about enhanced efficiency and sustainability in agriculture.
These new initiatives, therefore, mirror the broader strategy the UAE is following to make it one of the technological leaders in the world. The country has also made progress on this front, as its position improved five places on the UN Frontier Technologies Readiness Index 2023 to emerge as the best Arab country.
