Michael Joseph Jackson, known across the globe as the King of Pop, pulled off incredible doings before the digital age took center stage. He was a legend at performances, commanding huge audiences who went into a thrall with his dynamic performances and innovative style of dance. Of course, his moonwalk remains an iconic gesture of Jackson's inventive power in dance.

He also made some very great contributions to music.
