Ugandan President In UAE: Two Nations Explore Economic And Investment Cooperation

At Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s request, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni arrived in Abu Dhabi on Sunday for a multi-day business visit.

In a meeting at Qasr Al Shati, the two leaders talked about ways to improve their bilateral ties and discussed working together in a variety of areas, including the economy and renewable energy.

The parties discussed problems of mutual interest on a regional and global level, as well as areas that support their goals of sustainable development and prosperity.

As part of initiatives to promote effective transformation in climate action, the UN Climate Change Conference (COP28), which the Emirates is scheduled to host later this month, was discussed.

In order to realize their common goals and objectives, Museveni expressed Uganda’s intention to increase economic and investment cooperation with the country in the Middle East.

Museveni begged an Emirati investor delegation he was meeting to show interest in Uganda’s domestic pharmaceutical product manufacturing.

Thanking the investors for “reaching the bigger markets of the world with our good natural products,” President Museveni praised them for bringing Ugandan goods to the international market.

He greeted the investors and made an effort to reassure them that there was a ready market for their goods and services as well as a favorable business environment in Uganda.

Additionally, he had talks with Sultan Al Jaber, the President of COP28, the UAE’s Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and the Managing Director and Group CEO of Adnoc.
