UAE Aid Convoy Heads Towards Rafah With Supplies Set To Benefit 84,000 Gazans
13 lorries bearing aid from the United Arab Emirates have left Al Arish in Egypt for the Rafah Border Crossing. While 10 vehicles transport 252 tonnes of supplies, including 16,800 food packs intended to serve around 84,000 Gaza residents, three others transport tents.
Once the emergency supplies arrive in Gaza, they will be distributed under Emirati supervision as part of Operation Gallant Knight 3, a decision issued by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in an effort to offer humanitarian assistance to the enclave.
The horrific Israel-Hamas conflict has been raging for 46 days, engulfing nearly the whole Middle East in chaos. Since the outset, the UAE has continued to bring help to the thousands of Gazans, sending 49 aircraft bearing crucial supplies.
The UAE establishes desalination plants and a field hospital.
Given the depletion of basic supplies in Palestinian land, the Emirates has also announced intentions to construct three desalination facilities, each with a production capacity of 200,000 gallons of water per day. Rafah is where the plants are being built.
The UAE President has directed the provision of medical care for 1,000 Gaza-based Palestinian cancer sufferers. The proposal underscores the Emirates’ continuous efforts to alleviate the enclave’s deteriorating humanitarian situation.
