Iman Vellani Was Once a ‘Walking MCU Encyclopedia’

 

Iman Vellani, the you actress who plays the role of “Kamala Khan” in Ms Marvels, is soaking in the limelight and sharing its and bits with fans, especially her love for comics. She was a comic buff, the superheroes genre!

Vellani said her interest was piqued by the brown-skinned superhero featured on Ironheart comic. “The man behind the counter handed me a copy of Ms Marvel #14 and I whipped out the emergency bill stashed behind my phone case.” The 21-year-old says Ms Marvel gave her security in her identity, not only as a Pakistani Muslim teenager but as an ardent nerd. She loved Iron Man but was drawn toward Ms Marvel — the first character she became fully obsessed with in comics.

Vellani graduated from being a fact-regurgitating encyclopedic robot to a bona fide fan. Vellani has also co-written Ms Marvel: The New Mutant with Sabir Pirzada.
