UAE Steps Forward As Libya Seeks Help Amid more than 2,000 Feared Dead In Floods

The UAE has sent urgent relief aid and rescue teams to Libya to assist the flood-stricken country. The UAE search-and-rescue team has arrived at Benghazi Airport. They swung into action immediately after their arrival. There are 34 team members equipped with vehicles, jet skis, and search-and-rescue equipment.

The UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed has directed the opening of an air bridge to support ongoing relief efforts in Morocco. Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, instructed the emirate’s rescue and ambulance teams to support those working to trace victims.

A relief plane has already left the UAE, carrying a large amount of shelter, food supplies, and other necessities.

The UAE’s response is in line with the Emirates’ objective to help those in need, irrespective of the region, religion, and diplomacy.
