Microsoft expands G42 partnership to boost cloud infrastructure in UAE

 

Microsoft, the US tech giant, and Abu Dhabi’s G42 have unveiled the next phase of their strategic alliance, focusing on the expansion of the existing data center infrastructure within the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to Peng Xiao, CEO of G42, this collaborative effort aims to “establish a comprehensive ecosystem for societal resilience and growth.” The companies are dedicated to reshaping industries, fostering positive economic opportunities, and leaving a lasting impact on community well-being.

This announcement, made on Tuesday, marks a significant milestone since the two organizations initially disclosed their intention to partner in April 2023. The latest development involves Microsoft’s expansion of its Azure cloud service in the UAE, accomplished through Khazna Data Centres, a joint venture between G42 and e&, a UAE-based telecommunications company.
