No word from Pyongyang on US soldier who made a mad dash into the nuclear-armed state

 

North Korea has remained silent about a United States soldier’s highly unusual entry into its territory when he crossed the heavily-fortified border between South and North Korea.

There has been no word from North Korea regarding the fate of US Private 2nd Class Travis King, who willingly bolted into North Korea during a tour of the border village of Panmunjom on Tuesday.

U.S. Army Private Travis T. King had finished serving nearly two months in detention in South Korea and was being escorted to the airport to fly home and likely face disciplinary action. But he never made it to his plane.

Instead, roughly 24 hours later, he sprinted into North Korea while on a civilian tour of the heavily fortified Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on the border between the two Koreas.
