IBM to freeze hiring as CEO sees AI replacing 7,800 jobs

  

IBM's CEO, Arvind Krishna, recently announced that the company will be freezing hiring as it focuses on upskilling its existing employees and embracing automation and artificial intelligence (AI). 

The move comes as IBM expects to replace around 7,800 jobs in its Global Technology Services division with AI and other technologies. However, the company will continue to hire in key growth areas such as cloud computing, security, and AI. 

The decision is expected to help IBM remain competitive in an ever-evolving market.
